Naturally
Healthy
Being healthy
is about being in balance. Balance of all the elements that
make up our body and our immune system. Being naturally healthy
is using natural ingredients to reach this balance.
Modern science and medicine have done great
things for our overall health standards. Drugs like Penicillin
or antibiotics have virtually eliminated many diseases that
only a few years ago were life ending.
Somewhere down the line though, we abused
the system. Abused the use of antibiotics for example. Did you
know that many conditions that we could treat with antibiotics
are now resistant to these drugs? Overuse of antibiotics has
produced strains of germs which are immune to the drugs we
developed to kill these germs in the first place.
Being naturally healthy isn't about
discarding modern drugs like antibiotics completely. Being
naturally healthy is about using everything in moderation and
in a balanced way. The ancient Greeks had a saying for this
"All things in moderation".
Just as an example, taking aspirin for a
headache is probably a pretty good idea. Taking a whole box of
aspirin isn't. All things in moderation.
Take yeast infections. Did you know that the
use of Penicillin can actually increase your chances of getting
a yeast infection?
Penicillin is effective against a whole
range of germs. But Penicillin can also kill your body's
natural Candida enemies. Candida Albicans is the itchy
little devil responsible for yeast infections. When
the penicillin kills of it's enemies, candida multiplies
and you itch. The naturally healthy option here might be
to use a natural enemy of the Candida fungus. Natural condition
- natural cure for
yeast infection.
Obesity is
another condition that has reached epidemic proportions in
recent years. Not many people get obese from taking "obese"
pills, but overuse of some medications can contribute to
obesity. Now nobody is saying stop taking medications if you
need them. That would be silly at best and irresponsibly
dangerous at worst. Maybe looking at the overall picture might
be a good idea though. Consider a naturally formulated
weight loss
supplement, or a calorie shifting diet or maybe
even a body
cleanse.

We research our topics extensively, so there's usually some
interesting and valuable information for all. Do you know the
quick
Candida test for example, or when was the last time
you assessed your Body Mass
Index?
We got an email a few days ago from a
young girl of 16. Steph asked us to recommend a quick
weight loss pill. The only information she gave was her age and
her weight, 19 and 107lbs. She said she was worried about her
weight and wanted to lose some quickly.
Our answer to her was to check her BMI
first. She did and her next email was a much happier one. Her
BMI came back as 21, well inside the "Normal" weight category.
She didn't need to lose weight - she only thought she did.
The point is, check the overall
picture. Don't just follow recommendations,
ours included. We love Aloe Vera and highly recommend it,
not only for specific conditions like Crohn's Disease, but as an overall
wellness tonic. But if you are diabetic or take
medications to regulate your blood glucose levels, taking Aloe
orally could have side effects. So even one of our
favorite supplements like Aloe might not be good for all.
Just because something is natural, it isn't
necessarily good for you. If you are considering any
kind of natural supplement, consult your doctor. Even
natural supplements could have side effects and might even
interact with medications you already take.
